BIO

Dr Stephen Orr is one of the UK’s leading golf coaches, recognised for his evidence-based approach to player and coach development. A PGA Master Professional - the youngest ever to receive the accolade - he has built a reputation at the forefront of modern coaching through the integration of science, research, and practical application.  

Based in England, Dr Orr is the Director of Coaching at his academy in West Sussex, where he has coached for over two decades, working with players across all levels of the game - from developing juniors to elite amateurs and tour professionals.  

He has held key roles within the national coaching system, including England regional and national coaching positions, contributing to the development of players progressing to international and professional levels.  

Dr Orr’s expertise extends beyond the lesson tee into coach education and research. He has worked as a PGA tutor and contributed to global coach development initiatives with The R&A, while also publishing research in leading academic journals focused on skill acquisition and elite performance.  

A former England Golf Coach of the Year, his work is characterised by a deep interest in how players learn, develop skill, and perform under pressure - making him a highly respected voice in both coaching practice and theory.
